The Android smartphone market is expecting global shipments to reach 998.3 million units by 2018, with the latest figures showing that Google´s Android surged to a whopping 68% share of the global smartphone market last quarter. That´s four times the 17% market share held by Apple.In the previous quarter, 105 million Android phones were shipped -- more than double the number shipped at the same time last year.
