Renting of Air Transport Equipment in Australia: ISIC 7113 - a new market research report on 2014-04-02 06:07:01
After portraying 13% average annual growth over 2000-2010, the Australian industry of renting and operational leasing of air transport equipment is still impacted by the global downturn, but the demand is already showing signs of improvement.

From a value of A$314 million in 2000, the market increased to A$1.1 billion by 2010, equivalent to net 239% growth over the decade. The industry saw the largest year-on-year growth of 38% in 2008, and the lowest increase of 6% in 2002.

From 2008 the industry started to suffer in many locations around the world, since rising jet fuel prices and lagging demand for air travel created difficulties for the airlines, a large proportion of which lease instead of purchasing their aircraft; this increased default of aircraft leases and made it harder for aeroplane renting and leasing industry to find lessees for their planes. As a result, large numbers of the aircraft lost some of their value.
