Sale, Maintenance and Repair of Motor Vehicles, Retail Sale of Automotive Fuel in Australia: ISIC 50 - a new market research report on 2014-04-02 05:33:01
With A$51 billion in turnover in 2010, the Australian industry of motor vehicle sales, maintenance and repair and retail sale of automotive fuel accounted for 1.7% of the country´s GDP and 3.7% of Australia´s total tax revenue. Industry turnover grew by an average of 4% per annum over 2000-2010, thanks to strong car sales and soaring oil prices, which stimulated Australia´s ever-greater spending on automotive fuel.

At the end of 2010 revenue from motor vehicle sales totalled A$29 billion and accounted for 58% of total industry turnover. Automotive fuel sales captured another 24%, gradually gaining share within industry revenue structure over the last decade.

Overall business turnover structure has remained largely unchanged since 2000. At the end of the review period, car maintenance and repair companies generated 10% of total industry revenue, followed by parts and accessories-selling companies with another 9% share, the same as in 2000.
