Australia soft drinks market reported revenue increases of 6% CAGR during 2000 to 2010
Soft Drinks in Australia: ISIC 1554 - a new market research report on 2014-04-01 16:46:01
Throughout the review period of 2000-2010 Australia remained among top 10 countries with regard to per capita consumption of soft drinks, with this market growing by an average annual of 6%. This performance was stimulated by sales of carbonated drinks and bottled water, but as consumers become increasingly health-and budget-conscious, the market is projected to see a period of slower development in the near future.

By the end of the review period the market reached a value of A$6.6 billion. Households remain the primary customer group, accounting for 85% of market value in 2010, although this share was down by seven percentage points from the beginning of the review period.

Relatively declining household spending on soft drinks may be due to the increasing popularity of going out to eat. Business-to-business consumers accounted for 15% of total sales in the market by the end of 2010, with expenditure more than triple that of 2000.
