2014-04-18 21:43:02 - Consultant Engineering Services in the UK - Industry Market Research Report - a new market research report on companiesandmarkets.com
Over the five years through 2013-14, the performance of the Consultant Engineering Services industry has been variable. Industry revenue and demand contracted at the start of the period because the global financial crisis significantly reduced the level of investment in construction projects, and caused industrial production and capital expenditure to contract sharply.
A short-lived upturn in construction and industrial production activity, together with robust growth in infrastructure spending, increased demand for engineering services during the middle of the period and enabled industry revenue to grow in 2010-11 and 2011-12. However, this momentum was not sustained in 2012-13 because economic conditions weakened. Industrial production and construction activity dropped and businesses slashed their capital expenditure budgets.
