Electrical appliance manufacturing market in the United Kingdom to grow 1.4% CAGR between 2014-19
Electrical Appliance Manufacturing in the UK - Industry Market Research Report - a new market research report on 2014-03-25 04:03:02
When buying an appliance, purchasers are conscious of price, efficiency, durability, style and brand. Electrical appliance manufacturers in the United Kingdom are challenged by relatively high costs compared with those in countries where labour is cheap. Britain´s largest home-grown appliance company, the Dyson group, shifted all its production to Malaysia in 2003.

The total UK market for electrical appliances (domestic demand) is estimated to be worth £4.2 billion in 2013- 14, of which 67.3% will be satisfied by imports. Meanwhile, exports are forecast to be valued at £529.3 million and account for 28.0% of industry revenue. In the five years through 2013-14, industry revenue is estimated to fall at a compound annual rate of 1.2%. Industry revenue was negatively affected by weak domestic demand for appliances, increasing competition from low-cost imports (with import penetration rising during the period) and a decline in export sales.
