Coffee pods and capsules enjoyed huge popularity, which helped to boost coffee sales. The trend is linked to the modern lifestyle that revolves around cafés and coffee bars as well as the convenience factor. Fresh ground coffee, which accounts for the bulk of sales, is expected to show a decline, as this will continue to suffer from product maturity and the subsequent market saturation in the forecast period. Instant coffee is also expected to have low growth because of the same reasons. The growth in coffee in the forecast period is projected to come from coffee pods and capsules, espresso and fresh coffee beans. The consumer demand for these products will continue to be seen due to the café lifestyle of the Germans, but the marketing activities of the manufacturers both in coffee and coffee machines will be vital to increasing and sustaining it.
