In 2012, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) finalised its list of authorised health claims. In May 2012, the European commission adopted 222 harmonised claims (thereby also rejecting 1,600 other claims) as part of the regulation EC N° 1924/2006 on nutrition and health claims.
