Irish retail sales declined at a CAGR below -0.5% during 2007-2012. We expect retail sales in the country to grow at a CAGR of over 1% during 2012-2017.

General retailers was the largest channel group with hypermarkets, supermarkets and hard discounters recording the highest sales among the various channels under general retailers channel group during review period. The convenience stores (including independents) and gas stations channel recorded the second highest sales.

The online channel is expected to record single digit growth during the forecast period.

The duty free retailers in Ireland are expected to grow at a CAGR of over 2% during the forecast period.
