In 2012 Strongbow Gold remained the only product in trade in the Italy cider market. No innovation in new variants or packaging has been done so far.
Until 2011, Italy had seen trade of cider products only in craft-artisan production, which could not be taken into account as levels of consumption were absolutely insignificant.
Prospects for the category are negative in the off-trade channels with an average decline of about 2% in volume and 3% in constant value sales expected in the forecast period. The on-trade channels instead are holding growth more steadily as InBev has a strong presence in Italian pubs and bars and will continue to promote the product and present it on their shelves.
