Spokane, WA US, March 22, 2013 /FSC/ - Mines Management, Inc. (MGT - TSX, MGN - NYSE-Market"Company") announced the passing of James H. Moore on Monday, March 18th, 2013.

Jim served as Chief Financial Officer of the Company since 2004, and served on the boards of a number of other publicly traded companies.

Glenn Dobbs stated, "We are heartbroken that Jim has left us. For nearly a decade, since joining our team he has been instrumental in overseeing the financial development of the Company, and has been a great counselor and friend. Jim was a man of knowledge and great integrity, and he will be sorely missed. Our hearts and prayers go out to his family at this difficult time."

The Company intends to initiate a search for a replacement Chief Financial Officer. In the interim, effective March 18, 2013, Ms. Nicole Altenburg, the Company's Controller, has been appointed to serve as principal financial officer and principal accounting officer.

Ms. Altenburg, 49, has served as the Company's Controller since she joined the Company on May 7, 2007. In that capacity, she has been responsible for financial and accounting activities, as well as filings with the securities regulatory agencies in both the United States and Canada. Ms. Altenburg has previously practiced as a certified public accountant. Ms. Altenburg obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Montana.
