The company is primarily engaged in the supply of value-added casthouse products, such as extrusion ingots, sheet ingots, wire rod, and foundry alloys. Hydro is a global aluminum supplier with primary metal production in Europe, Canada, Qatar, and Australia, as well as flexible remelting plants in Europe, the US, and Asia. The company recorded revenues of NOK75,754 million ($12,537.3 million) during the financial year ended December 2010 (FY2010), an increase of 12.4% over FY2009. The operating profit of the company was NOK12,699 million ($2,101.7 million) during FY2010, an increase of 45.9% over FY2009. The net profit was NOK1,888 million ($312.5 million) in FY2010, as compared to the net profit of NOK299 million ($49.5 million) in FY2009.
