Q4 with the Christmas holiday period is vital for UK retailers; it is when consumers spend the most. However since the recession began growth has been hard to achieve as shoppers kept to tight budgets. 2013 will produce the strongest Q4 growth since 2007, with consumers spending £88.5bn.

Retail expenditure will grow by 2.2% in Q4 2013, which is the strongest growth since 2007, driven by rising consumer confidence. All sectors are set to grow, the first time since Q4 2004, but the overall winner is online which increase to £11.6bn, up 12% on last year.
