Company Secures Regulatory Approval & Patent for Latest Cooking Fire Prevention Product
Mississauga, Ontario CANADA, February 25, 2014 /FSC/ - Pioneering Technology Corp. (TSX-V: PTE; OTC BB: PTEFF"Pioneering North America's leader in the development of cooking fire prevention technologies announced today that it has received regulatory listing approval for sale at retail and it has also been awarded another patent paving the way for the introduction of the consumer version of its highly anticipated and award winning Safe-T-element(r) cooking system (STE) technology this spring.
An electric coiled stovetop has changed little if at all in the last 90 years. Stove top cooking fires are the number one cause of household fires in North America (approximately 44% of all household fires
as per the National Fire Protection Association - this is up from 20% in 1980). Electric stovetops are still predominant and the leading cause of these fires by 3 to 1.
Until now, the STE's patented temperature limiting control (TLC) technology, engineered to help prevent stovetop cooking fires (professionally installed on over 100,000 stovetops without a single stovetop cooking fire reported) has only been available to large multi-residential customers (affordable, senior, university and military housing providers) because the technology required a professional installation.
This new easy to install consumer version of the STE delivers all of the benefits of the original STE except that this new consumer version looks even more upscale and no longer requires a professional installation. Because the STE's multi-patented TLC technology is now built right into the burner elements, anyone can now install the technology very easily in less than 5 minutes - take the existing element out and slide the new one in.
This new version of the product will not only help prevent cooking fires but it will give an electric coiled stovetop and kitchen a designer look, cook food more evenly and thoroughly, is easier to clean and maintain but can also help reduce electricity and insurance costs.
This new "smart" technology is a must have product for electric coil stove owners (the majority of stovetop types in N.A.). For those with young families, teenagers and/or aging parents this product not only delivers superior design, performance and savings but most importantly it will help deliver peace of mind for all caregivers.
Pioneering CEO Kevin Callahan said of the announcement, "We are asked daily by residential consumers how they can get the STE technology. Until now, we have told them they can't because it required a professional installation. This is a solution we have been working on for a long time. Today, our engineers in collaboration with our partners from around the world have a solution ready for electric coiled stove owners everywhere. We expect that this new product will be available on-line and at retail beginning in May 2014."
