SDA cooperative is the majority company of Tereos and consolidating entity for the Tereos Group. The group is engaged in the production and processing of sugar beet, sugarcane and cereals; and marketing of a range of sugars, starch products, alcohols, bio ethanol, and co-products used in animal feed and electrical energy. The group primarily operates in the Europe, South America and Africa. It is headquartered in Lille, France and employs around 16,851 people. The group recorded revenues of E3,529.3 million ($4,785 million) during the financial year ended September 2010 (FY2010), an increase of 6.7% over 2009. The increase was primarily driven by higher sugar prices, volume growth, and positive exchange rate impact. The operating profit of the group was E325.4 million ($441.2 million) in FY2010, an increase of 30.7% compared to 2009. The net profit was E150.3 million ($203.8 million) in FY2010, an increase of 98.8% compared to 2009.
