The Hershey Company (Hershey or 'the company') is involved in the manufacturing, selling and distribution of chocolate and confectionery products, pantry items, and gum and mint refreshment products under more than 80 brand names. The company's products are sold in approximately 70 countries worldwide. It is headquartered in Hershey, Pennsylvania and employed about 13,800 people as of December 31, 2011, of whom 2,000 were part-time employees. The company recorded revenues of $6,080.8 million in the financial year ended December 2011 (FY2011), an increase of 7.2% over FY2010. The increase in revenues is primarily attributable to net price realization and sales volume increases in the US and international markets during the year. The operating profit of the company was $1,055 million in FY2011, an increase of 16.5% over FY2010. The net profit was $629 million in FY2011, an increase of 23.4% over FY2010.
