Shoe Stores in China - a new market research report on 2014-03-31 16:52:04
The development of the Shoe Store industry in China has been driven by substantial and steadily growing domestic demand for footwear from China´s large population. In addition, rising income levels and the promotion of a wider range and higher quality footwear products has boosted domestic sales for the industry.

Mainland China has been the world manufacturing base for footwear since the 1990s. Currently, China supplies over 60.0% of global footwear demand. Over the past two decades, domestic manufacturers have gradually improved their manufacturing technologies and designing abilities, which has stimulated demand for new footwear products. Currently, there are almost 361,200 shoe retailers in China, employing about 1.56 million people with an estimated payroll of $3.37 billion.

Shoe Store industry revenue has been increasing 9.2% annually over the past five years, to an estimated $28.2 billion in 2013. Growth slowed toward the latter years of the period; the 2009 global financial crisis led to in weaker consumer spending across a wide range of products, including shoes.
