United Kingdom sets market: Gillette the key player in the industry
Sets/Kits in the United Kingdom - a new market research report on 2014-04-21 20:09:02
Procter & Gamble UK Ltd remained the leading player in the United Kingdom sets market and kits industry during 2012 with a value share of 12%. The company´s leading sets/kits brand is Gillette, which held a value share of 7% in 2012. Gillette sets contain a selection of men´s toiletries such as shaving gel, body lotion and deodorant.

In 2012, category value growth slowed to 2% from 4% a year earlier as consumers delayed their Christmas shopping in order to wait for better deals. The current economic climate is putting increased pressure on UK consumers, which has had a direct impact on spending on Christmas gifts. A large proportion of UK consumers are postponing their Christmas shopping until the sales start in order to get a cheaper deal.

The sets/kits category is predicted a better performance over the forecast period compared to the review period in both value and volume terms. The category is, however, anticipated a fairly flat performance, with both value and volume sales set to decline marginally year-on-year.
